Merge Amazon Seller Central and Squarespace Sales Data for Sales Tax Reporting in Germany

Sales tax reporting needs order totals broken out consistently by date and location, which rarely matches between two platforms' raw exports. In Germany, that also means accounting for Mehrwertsteuer (VAT): VAT rates and EU distance-selling thresholds mean revenue often needs to be split by destination country, not just totalled.

Why Amazon Seller Central and Squarespace exports don't line up

Amazon Seller Central: a purchase date/time column stamped in UTC, not your local time; item price, promotion discounts, and Amazon referral fees split across several columns; an Amazon Order ID in a long dashed format (e.g. 123-4567890-1234567).
Squarespace: a Date column in ISO-like format; Subtotal, Discount, Shipping, and Total as separate columns; an Order ID that's a short alphanumeric code.

Neither export is built with Mehrwertsteuer (VAT) in mind, so getting from "two raw files" to "Germany-ready numbers" means normalizing dates/totals first, then applying your own Mehrwertsteuer (VAT) treatment on top of the merged total — not per platform separately.

How to merge them

Set your target columns once in CSV Experts (Date, Channel, Order ID, Total, and a Currency column if you sell in more than EUR).
Map the Amazon Seller Central export, then the Squarespace export — each file shape is remembered after the first time.
